This might pinterest you

Here's what I've been up to in the pinterest culinary world... But first I'll show you what I made up on my own so you can pin it :). Even my leftover pizza is happy about it... I present
Apple Enchiladas
I saw something like it on pinterest and I even pinned it, but when the time came down to it, I was too lazy to look it up. so I made up my own. We went apple picking and I had a LOT of apples, don't know if I could tell you which kind, but I mixed sweet and sour ones... sliced them and cooked them down  in a covered pan on medium heat till semi-soft.
Then I took 1 cup powdered sugar and mixed it with 8oz of cream cheese. I poured the apples and juice that cooked down with the cream cheese mixture.
I stuffed tortillas with the apple/ cream cheese mixture into the tortilla and laid them seam side down into a pyrex. I sprinkled granulated sugar and cinnamon on top and baked at 325 for 20 minutes to crisp up the tortillas... may I say : SOOOO GOOD and so easy!
onto my next pinterest:
CHOCOLATE COVERED KIWI POPSICLES
First you start by cutting kiwi into THICK slices

A LOT of Kiwi
I will say my happy carrot peeler was the happiest one on the block during this process... Even still smiling 5 kiwis later!!!
Then you insert sticks , dip in chocolate : I chose green chocolate because it's more "natural" looking :)

After you freeze the goody... you chow down on healthy snacky!!! try dark chocolate too...
Love you kids! Enjoy!

Threading....

Ok, So I'll admit... getting my eyebrows waxed is cathartic. I LOVE to get my eyebrows waxed. I REALLY don't mind getting my legs waxed... it can happen.
Then someone suggests I go to the mall where for the same price I can get my eyebrows threaded... never done before, so why not?
WHY NOT???
It hurt literally more than just about anything I've ever gotten done on my face including laser hair removal (which didn't work by the way: Im  a wooly mammoth to stay.). It was like someone giving me a [native american] burn to the side of my face... I could hear a zipper. Oh wait, that's the hair on my eyebrows getting ripped out in quick sessesion.
And then after the girl laughed at me for tearing up, I left.
First person I run into: Ali, did you get your eyebrows done? They look so good...
and this happens for the NEXT 2 WEEKS from everyone I see.
This pic is me after 3 weeks and change...still going strong with few hairs daring to show their face.
I have never had people comment on my eyebrows... so now the problem comes.
Do I dare to get it done again.. hurt, but so far completely worth it just to make me feel pretty.
And by the way. How did ANYONE come up with this?!!
Who said, if I stretch and twist a rubberband around multiple eyebrow hairs I can rip em out quicker than plucking.... I doubt anyone would take me up on it... oops didn't mean to pop it on your face.
So if you feel the need: worth a try... maybe

I'm creative, sew what? pt. 29?

Today's craft comes to you thanks to the first day of school and I'm sure that I'll be making another tonight... because I have another starting school tomorrow..........

I give you Ada:
Look at them buttons that look like leaves!!!! on a tree I sewed!!!

Ada is in a class that is Owl themed. You might as well be speaking her language... she started telling me everything she owns that's an owl... and the fact I made her this shirt made her want to burst... sometimes it is SO worth sewing... and sometimes I wish no one expected much from me... it's fun, not fun-ctional.

What up lately?

sometimes it's like I just don't have time or I forget to tell ya'll what's been going on. or I forget why I took a picture of something or what I planned on writing about... so here's a splash of leftovers from this summer
we've been trying to find a home for sweet boots.

Ella learned about China and made chinese music, chinese food, and chinese fashion.

we've had sickies

Ella forced me to face my fear of butterflies... hard to hide from my mother in law as I'm swatting at them... dozens of darn vampires in disguise!
Ada started school and on friday Nyla will have her first day of school. Sounds like a lot, but this is a whole summers worth of good pics. I really don't know what I'm doing, I just keep going and let others compliment me (even if it's not true). So hope that my summer makes you want to get out and make something of it. I'm hoping to make something of my fall!!!
In store: Okeefenokee, Jacksonville, Great Wolfe Lodge, Disney, SCHOOL, Ballet Recital (nov), the fair... and a little bit of trouble. Whatever is Unexpected (that's what 32 is for right).

My dreams took a breather on the couch and forgot to get up

So think about your day.
I'm not talking about making bucket lists or vacationing in Scottland (which I DO plan on doing)... because frankly not every day can we take a tour of the world. What I'm talking bout is the inventory of what you wish you could do in a day.
Here's mine:
Teach School
Be a good wife
Love on my children
Have dinner ready
The laundry (really I could pass with that one, but it'd get expensive to buy new clothes every week)
Have a friend time
Read a book
Work out
Spend time with God
clean the house
drive my kids to ballet (yes 3 days a week if not more)
lie on the couch with a numbing tv
craft
learn a new language

'm sure there's more that I have blacked out. Seriously, how do people do these things. even if we take off the extravagant ones like language and anything related to the house... I still don't know how to do it.
Now before you excuse me with 4 children, or too busy or too creative, or some interesting fact that was already on my obvious meter... these are things that need to be done to be healthy and wise and capable (like I said, except for language and house). Maybe you need to inventory yourself as to why you're excusing me. Are you skinny already? Do you feel like if I achieve this that you'll be left in the dark and you'd like company? Do you want to spare my feelings because you think I'd go insane?
Well, let it go and be helpful. Do I need to regiment my day? Do I need to schedule sex, friends, and personal child time throughout the month? How do I exercise with 4 that walk, don't walk, hate to walk or anything else? How do I get time with God when I burn the candle at both ends and yawn the rest of the time?
So, I sit on the couch, thinking.... and thinking... and really getting NOTHING done in the meantime.
and when you think about juggling analogies or swimming analogies- some people say gradually add the balls to the juggle... or just jump in don't ease... they're both  viable and can be done for a month and then slacked on for another month... and ya ya... gotta be diligent... aren't I diligent with enough: 4 kids and cooking every day and school and BRUSHING MY TEETH...
Can anyone help me: the bottom just dropped out?

Ada crack

This girl doesn't even know she's funny... and addictive

Johnny sAID If I don't tell you about what she said today, I'm a nerd. And God forbid, I be a nerd.

I'm pretty sure Ada cut her nose on the inside. She kept telling me that it stung like a fire ant was up there. But every time I looked at her, she was DIGGING up her nose with her finger. So, she asked me a few times to get the bug out of her nose. So, I took a tissue and pulled a boogie out.

"Mom, is that a gummy sword?"

nice!

Crafts come in different forms

This week. I've been feeling CRAFTEEE

But it isn't anything crazy, just things for school

So here I have to your left my bucket thingy.. I added to the front chalk board labels so if it changes what's inside, I can change along with it. Now , we ALWAYS find what we need. So much better than the giant tupperware we dug through. Plus next to it, we put a crate with all our folders for easy grabbing, and ella's books for school are on the bookshelf.

Ella kept complaining that she never knew what she was supposed to do next, and I HATE to repeat myself. Especially when I frankly don't know and probably don't care 3 hours ahead of time. This way, thanks to pinterest, I took 3 cookie sheets, painted them with chalkboard paint, hotglued ribbon on the back and hung them in the hallway so each girl knew what's up.
I'm sure there's more to do and done... and actually I love crafts... mondays are my hard days...so the girls will soon be doing things that make me smile as we learn what CRAFTS are all about...
Rock on kids!
