so, the other day I was visiting some old friends. What a sweet time right?
well, not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 people told me congratulations for being pregnant. The first person I thought I could correct, and she said, "well you just had the baby then." I said yes (as I muttered under my breath that it was a year and a half ago).
After that, I no longer corrected anyone. I just said thank you with a smirk and dealt with the fact that I shouldn't cry in public like this.
I have the awesome friends who tell me not to worry about it because I only live once or eat what I want because soon I'll be walking everywhere... but the damage is done.
Monday I started eating healthier. Frankly, I have had a rough start. I love food. But I have increased the water, taken out the sweets except maybe a small individual chocolate each late afternoon. But I am hoping and praying. I have a plan.
So if you see me with a milkshake in hand, slap it out of my mouth and replace it with a cool glass of water.
otherwise, don't assume I'm pregnant, fools!

this might pinterest you: mail anyone?
Yah, I'm a nerd!
I made a great thing for my kids while we had a giant box in our house... took me 3 weeks because i'm lazy. Johnny constantly yelled at me, "ali, why can't we throw this box out?"
So enjoy the mailbox!

back fat
got your attention, didn't I?
I got it... I've said it once I'll say it again. I have the opposite of body dysmorphic disorder. I don't look in the mirror and think I look fat; I look good. Then I see a photo or I try on my pants and I notice that I've gotten BIG.
My problem... lack of motivation...
I mean, I am P.O.'d that I can't wear my clothes, but I'm still relatively happy with my body.
So this should really be part II. because I've talked about this before. I haven't gained any weight since last time, but I havne't lost any either.
I have increased my water intake. I have started exercising 1 day a week... This is slow, but it's good too. Gotta start somewhere right.
I mean I have 4 kids... I homeschool. I have a husband and a life... 1 day a week is amazing.
My next step is that after I finish this pack of coke, I am not going to buy any more.
My husband says maybe I want to buy my DC with splenda, but I do'nt know. I'm thinking to cut out coke all together eventually... crazy... hmmm.
Long term goal: get rid of backfat.... ok ok. maybe it's to stop eating.... hmmmm, no?
I had a girl the other day that when I said I had a goal... she said, "to only eat dessert once a DAY?" but finished it off with "gotta start somewhere..."
well... I laughed at the time... now I'm not really smirking... gotta cut down on the sweets. Maybe if I can cut down on fast food.... shut up. I do'nt want your advice. It just makes me want to eat a brownie.

This might pinterest you
Here's what I've been up to in the pinterest culinary world... But first I'll show you what I made up on my own so you can pin it :). Even my leftover pizza is happy about it... I present
Then I took 1 cup powdered sugar and mixed it with 8oz of cream cheese. I poured the apples and juice that cooked down with the cream cheese mixture.
I stuffed tortillas with the apple/ cream cheese mixture into the tortilla and laid them seam side down into a pyrex. I sprinkled granulated sugar and cinnamon on top and baked at 325 for 20 minutes to crisp up the tortillas... may I say : SOOOO GOOD and so easy!

Apple Enchiladas
I saw something like it on pinterest and I even pinned it, but when the time came down to it, I was too lazy to look it up. so I made up my own. We went apple picking and I had a LOT of apples, don't know if I could tell you which kind, but I mixed sweet and sour ones... sliced them and cooked them down in a covered pan on medium heat till semi-soft.Then I took 1 cup powdered sugar and mixed it with 8oz of cream cheese. Threading....
Then someone suggests I go to the mall where for the same price I can get my eyebrows threaded... never done before, so why not?
WHY NOT???
It hurt literally more than just about anything I've ever gotten done on my face including laser hair removal (which didn't work by the way: Im a wooly mammoth to stay.). It was like someone giving me a [native american] burn to the side of my face... I could hear a zipper. Oh wait, that's the hair on my eyebrows getting ripped out in quick sessesion.
And then after the girl laughed at me for tearing up, I left.
First person I run into: Ali, did you get your eyebrows done? They look so good...
and this happens for the NEXT 2 WEEKS from everyone I see.
This pic is me after 3 weeks and change...still going strong with few hairs daring to show their face.
I have never had people comment on my eyebrows... so now the problem comes.
Do I dare to get it done again.. hurt, but so far completely worth it just to make me feel pretty.
And by the way. How did ANYONE come up with this?!!
Who said, if I stretch and twist a rubberband around multiple eyebrow hairs I can rip em out quicker than plucking.... I doubt anyone would take me up on it... oops didn't mean to pop it on your face.
So if you feel the need: worth a try... maybe

I'm creative, sew what? pt. 29?
Today's craft comes to you thanks to the first day of school and I'm sure that I'll be making another tonight... because I have another starting school tomorrow..........
I give you Ada:
Ada is in a class that is Owl themed. You might as well be speaking her language... she started telling me everything she owns that's an owl... and the fact I made her this shirt made her want to burst... sometimes it is SO worth sewing... and sometimes I wish no one expected much from me... it's fun, not fun-ctional.

What up lately?
sometimes it's like I just don't have time or I forget to tell ya'll what's been going on. or I forget why I took a picture of something or what I planned on writing about... so here's a splash of leftovers from this summer

Ella forced me to face my fear of butterflies... hard to hide from my mother in law as I'm swatting at them... dozens of darn vampires in disguise!
Ada started school and on friday Nyla will have her first day of school. Sounds like a lot, but this is a whole summers worth of good pics. I really don't know what I'm doing, I just keep going and let others compliment me (even if it's not true). So hope that my summer makes you want to get out and make something of it. I'm hoping to make something of my fall!!!
In store: Okeefenokee, Jacksonville, Great Wolfe Lodge, Disney, SCHOOL, Ballet Recital (nov), the fair... and a little bit of trouble. Whatever is Unexpected (that's what 32 is for right).
