All kids are cute... all my children are good at something, but I have to admit that in the contrary to popular belief, Zoe and Nyla are the two most brilliant children I own.
Zoe has learning disabilities, but I'm convinced that they aren't. When she was born , she did everything EARLY... I know , you disagree if you can remember her being slow. She rolled over at 2 months... then when she knew she accomplished it, she didn't do it again til 6 months. She crawled at 6 months, but again, not again until almost a year and didn't walk until 16 months. We constantly say that she doesn't speak english, but I think, frankly, she doesn't want to listen/talk.
But the other day I'm trying to teach her to read and I open the book and she starts reading the words before I can say anything. After she finishes, I go back and point to a letter and ask what that letter says, " I don't know what letter that is or what it says. I can't read mom"... well then , how did you know what was on the page written (I had covered the picture) " I ... I... I didn't mom. I don't know what the page says. I can't do it"
this went on with every page. Every page she read and then remembered she wasn't supposed to know how to read and then she would struggle to read through it again... She's brilliant, she just doesn't want to be looped into more responsibility like Ella... very brilliant.
Nyla on the other hand, is a talker. She just waits until it's bedtime. BRILLIANT. She knows I can't stand to leave her or walk away while she talks (and sings by the way)... so she ends up getting a pass to stay up...
So to all of you who were wondering if Ella really was the smartest in the house... or even ada with her cuteness... nah, it's Zoe and Nyla. Maybe it's the fact that they're 3 years after the former sibling... we'll see. but then again, I don't sell the other 2 short either.
Ali, your babies are beautiful!
